Clay Bowden
Senior Pastor |
Clay joined our staff in August 2004. He has a great desire to meet the community where they are. His vision is to build community within the church as well as bringing those who dwell near us to become a part of the community we serve and minister to each day. |
Mark Green
Minister of Music and Education |
We welcomed Mark to our staff in August 2006. Mark is a graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary with a double Master, one in Church Music and the second in Christian Education. One of Mark's commitments is to broaden the music ministry to incorporate the community in new choral and instrumental groups. |
Drew Hensley
Minister to Families |
We welcome Drew Hensley to our staff as Minister to Families in May 2007. He completed his college training just prior to joining our staff. He is planning to continue on to seminary here in the Atlanta area. Drew will have primary responsibility to youth ministry, and will oversee all child and preschool ministries as well. |

Fran Whatley

Bathilde Vilsaint
Internationals Ministry Coordinator |
Bathilde joined our staff in June 2006. She is a native of Haiti, and a student at New Orleans Theological Seminary in Decatur. Bathilde speaks three languages and is well suited to help the growing International population assimilate into our community, as well as our fellowship and ministries while sharing the love of Christ with them. |

Eddie joined us in July 2003. Eddie's experience in the business world gives him great insight into the behind the scenes church business. Eddie is a vital bridge between the councils, members and staff in effecting the administration of all areas of the church. Eddie is also an ordained minister of the gospel. |

Jacinda joined the staff in October of 2007. She has experience in publishing and book keeping and has a desire to do whatever is needed to help the Avondale team to be the best it can be. |

Tim has been with the staff since 1989. His commitment to keep the church facilities in working condition continues. We can always depend on Tim to serve in any way he can. |
Jeannie Holcombe
Receptionist |
Jeannie joined the team in January 1999. If you call the church office, or stop by to visit, her friendly voice or smile is the first thing you will experience. |
Tim Stewart
Organist |
Tim has his Doctorate in music. He not only plays the organ, but also tunes all our pianos and keeps them in good working order. |
Nancy Mann
Pianist |
Nancy has been with us for over 20 years. Her devotion to music and to playing for the church and the choir are never ending. |
Mike Parker
Operations Assistant |
Mike joined the team in early 2006. He assures that our buildings are open prior to regular Sunday and Wednesday activities, as well as closing and locking the buildings at the conclusion of the evening. |
